About

Softspoken is a private, local-first dictation app and meeting notetaker for Windows. Talk and it types - hold a key in any app, say what you mean, and clean text lands at your cursor. Take the minutes in a boardroom or on a Zoom or Teams call with no bot in the room, and get who said what, what was decided, and who owes what by when.

Nothing leaves your computer. Recording and transcription run on your own machine, and by default the audio is deleted once the notes are written. The optional AI layer - for cleaning up dictation and writing meeting summaries - runs in Australia, or on your own Anthropic or AWS key, or you can turn AI off entirely.

- Dictation in any app: speak instead of type, anywhere on your PC.

- Meetings without a bot: in person or on Teams and Zoom, no third-party bot joins the call.

- Private by design: on-device transcription; your audio is never uploaded.
